Therotical interpretation framework for tracer experiments
Modelling of liquid, solid or gas flows at steady state
The concept of Residence Time Distribution (RTD, in french : DTS : Distribution des Temps de Séjour) provides ageneral description of flow patterns with direct access to hydrodynamic parameters of interest to the engineer : mixing zones, plug flow, short-circuits, dead volumes, recycle loops...
The DTS software package facilitates the simulation of flow models with the Residence Time Distribution method. In particular, it simplifies interpretation of tracer experiments in reactors and other industrial and laboratory systems.
mentioned.
The DTS-PRO is a new software including upgrading version of the DTS version 3.3 and a specific part for preliminary treatment of the experimental data. It was developed within the framework of collaboration between Patrick YAX (director of SYSMATEC), Jean-Pierre LECLERC (director of PROGEPI) and Bernard ANTOINE , research engineer at " Laboratoire d'Energétique et de Mécanique Théorique et Appliquée ". The authors are indebted to Antoine GARNIER and Elise FOURNIER for their participation in the theoretical work during the development. The authors are also grateful to Jovan Tereska, International Atomic Energy Agency and Xavier Vitart team's, Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique (CEA France) for their help and their efforts to promote this software.
